Castele Consultancy was established as a partnership by Caroline and Stephen Smith in January 2008. In September 2008, the company became Castele Consultancy Ltd. The company has established a sound reputation within the sports, leisure and education sector and is well known for delivering high quality products and services.

Caroline Smith


Expertise

Caroline is an experienced sports development professional with expertise of working at grassroots level through to working with professional sports performers. Caroline's expertise include funding submissions and bid writing, strategic business planning, project management, volunteering, equality, training and leadership, funding and developing commercial contracts. Caroline relishes new challenges, which require drive, enthusiasm, commitment and expertise. She is highly respected by colleagues and partners.

Experience
Caroline has worked in the private sector, local government and for five years for UK Athletics both within the education department and the business development department leading on special project including the development of athlete contracts, the equality standard and commercial contracts. She has also worked for the East Staffordshire School Sport Partnership and Blessed Robert Sutton Catholic Sports College since 2011 working with over 65 schools in the area. Caroline worked for Transition UK Ltd, primarily on facility developments and applications to the Football Foundation as an associate consultant. Since 2010 her focus has been building up the business and creating a highly respected company.

Education
Bsc (Hons) in Physical Education and Sports Science from Loughborough University.

Personal
Caroline has been married to Steve for 15 years and gave birth to their first child, Lewis in March 2007. A daughter, Katie arrived in November 2009. When she can find the time, Caroline enjoys running and has competed in a number of half marathons. She now spends most weekends watching her son play football and rugby or her daughter do dancing and gymnastics!  She also volunteers for the local rugby club taking on a team managers and Safeguarding Officer role.

Sport has always been a key part of my life and has helped shape both the person I am and the friendships I have developed. Sport can be something for everyone to enjoy either as a participant, coach, volunteer or spectator.

Steve Smith

Expertise
Steve has worked within the public and private sectors from the private health sector, Local Authorities, the Rugby Football Union and within the Education Sector. Steve's expertise includes; project management, event management, strategic management, fundraising from public and private funders, strategic planning / consultation and leadership development. Steve has worked as a Deputy Contract Manger for Active Nation, managing two sites and 250 staff and now works for Nottingham Rugby Club as their Chief Operating Officer having previously taken the roles of General Manager, First Team Manager and Community Manager.

Experience
Steve has been employed in the Sports and Leisure Industry since leaving university, making an impact in a wide variety of organisations. Steve has experience of working in small rural Local Authorities, Inner Cities, within Education and National Governing Bodies of Sport.  Currently his role includes event delivery and management as well as working with commercial sponsors.

Education
BSc (Hons) in Physical Education, Sports Science and Recreation Management from Loughborough University.

Personal
Steve has a passion for all sports, having played rugby and cricket for most of his life. Steve has been fortunate to organise and lead sports tours to Australia, France, Italy and Spain. Steve now enjoys playing badmintion, cycling and still coaches rugby for his son's team.
